Out of the 8 partners, 3 are involved in issues typical to Elderly people, while CogniFit, the coordinator, is fully dedicated to cognitive science ICT applications. There are 4 Technology Providers:
Philips Consumer Products Innovative Lab having expertise in STB, and due to integrate gesture as a UI to its STBs or STB Infra-Red Controller (SIRC); Czech Technology University (CTU) has expertise in vocal control due to an ongoing collaboration with IBM in the Czech Republic; Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Genoa which develops edutainment systems for iTV; and Czech TV (CTV) who has expertise in the planning, installation and operation of TV networks. All partners have been active in the multimedia area, while Philips, as a leader in Consumer Electronics, provides the consortium with its close relation to standards and open architecture. Two of the partners are representing the needs of the end-users, with a special interest in the elderly population: the University of Dundee and UHK. Czech TV (CTV) represents the TV broadcast industry. CTV was one of the first, of the new EU member states, to deploy iDTV. All End Users will participate both in the Focus Groups and Technology Verification. In collaboration with Goldsmiths, University of London in London, they also will develop the Use Cases and the Business Models for the project.
